Who can enter?

The competition is open to amateur photographers. The Young Fujiholic of the Year category is open to anyone under the age of 18 at the competition deadline date.

What images are eligible to be submitted?

Images that have been previously published, in any media, are eligible for entry. Images that have been entered into or commended by a competition are eligible, however images that have won a category or overall award in a national or international level competition on or before the deadline date are not eligible to be entered in Young Fujiholic of the Year. Images taken by the entrant at any time are eligible, there is no set time-frame in which images must have been taken. Checks will be made to verify the eligibility of the winning images before the results are announced.

How much image manipulation is allowable?

Image manipulation is allowed but is limited to the following types of adjustments: black and white points, highlights/shadows, dynamic range, contrast/clarity, saturation/vibrance, curves, dodging and burning, vignetting, distortion correction, white balance, cropping, dust spotting, minor element removal (adding elements to a scene is not permitted), sharpening and noise reduction. Stitched images are permitted if the source images are taken at the same location within a short time of each other. Images that are composited from different scenes or different times of day or year are not permitted. The judges will be looking for a sophisticated and gentle approach to image editing, so avoid overdoing any particular image adjustment unless it clearly adds to the interpretation of the photograph.

What image rights do you require, and do I retain copyright?

The copyright in all images submitted remains at all times with the photographers. Fujiholics LTD and the sponsor will require the rights to use the submitted images in direct association with the promotion and reporting of the competition and within selected media if selected. We won’t use your images for anything else without your express permission being sought beforehand. And we certainly won’t be selling your images or data to anyone else.

Will I be contacted if I am unsuccessful?

Unfortunately, due to the high number of entries, we will only contact you if your image/s has been shortlisted for a category.

All images will be judged but only a selection of the images you submit will be displayed in the gallery.
